GOMU is something that WON, the producer, wants to be, and it's actually an essential-natural thing that we've all forgotten.
GOMU는 제작자인 WON이 되고 싶어하는 존재이며,
사실 우리 모두가 잊고 있던 본질적-기질적 존재입니다.

The character's start was in 2020,
when I suggested that I wanted to release it with the character "고무적 존재(encouraging being)" on the Kakao emoticon service in Korea.
The word 'encouraging' in Korean is '고무적(鼓舞的): encouraging to cheer up. adjectives that positive direction or when such a possibility is high.'
It is based on the positive nature of humans who help each other without knowing (even if superficial behavior looks bad!).
이 캐릭터의 시작은 2020년으로 거슬러 올라갑니다.
당시 제가 한국의 카카오 이모티콘 서비스에
"고무적 존재(encouraging being)”라는 캐릭터로 출시를 원한다고 제안했었어요.
여기서 '고무적'은 한국어로 '고무적(鼓舞的): 힘을 내도록 격려하여 용기를 북돋우는 것.
어떤 일에서 긍정적 방향으로 발전하거나 그 가능성이 높을때 사용하는 형용사'입니다.
이는 알게 모르게 서로 도와주는(심지어 표면적인 행동은 나빠보여도!)
인간의 긍정적인 성질을 기반으로 합니다.
Character Appearance
캐릭터 외형
The character's appearance is based on a rubber tree and pink rubber gloves, which feature a white body and a pink mouth.
(By the way, rubber is called gomu in Korea)
GOMU official age is zero, and there is no genitalia.
캐릭터 외형은 고무 나무와 분홍색 고무 장갑에서 착안한 캐릭터로,
흰색 몸통에 분홍색 입이 특징입니다.
(참고로, 제작자의 국적인 한국에서는 rubber를 gomu 라고 읽습니다)
공식나이는 0살, 생식기는 없습니다.

This GOMU is highly water-resistant, so any dirt hits the GOMU, and the dirt falls off without GOMU even realizing it.
GOMU는 내수성이 강해서 어떤 오물이 GOMU를 덮쳐도
자신이 인지하지도 못하는 사이에 오물이 떨어져 나갑니다.

Also, the elasticity is so good that even if someone stabs me rudely or drags me in a way that I'm not, GOMU quickly return to my original form.
또한, 탄성이 매우 좋아서 누가 무례하게 찌르거나 내가 아닌 모습으로 끌고가도 금방 본래의 모습으로 잘 돌아옵니다.

Thanks to this elasticity, GOMU can change into various forms when GOMU wants to.
이 탄력성 덕분에 GOMU는
본인이 원할 땐 다양한 형태로 변할 수 있어요.

GOMU have flexible properties, so also change color depending on the background color
(But usually, GOMU change color in nature.)
유연한 특성 덕분에 배경에 따라 색상도 변합니다.
(하지만 보통 GOMU는 자연 속에 있을 때 색을 바꿉니다.)

But when GOMUS together in RED Country,
GOMU can all change the color to the same white.
하지만 붉은 나라에 함께 있을 때는
모두 같은 흰색이 될 수 있어요.
When these properties of GOMU are put together
the essence is RESILIENCE.
이러한 고무의 성질을 종합했을 때,
GOMU의 본질은 회복 탄력성입니다.
This has to do with the GOMUS mouth being pink.
The color of each GOMU character's mouth is unified to pink.
It looks like a heart, but the tip is not pointed.
This means that it is not just a stubborn love for one person,
but a soft and tender affection for many things around you.
In other words, everything transmitted from mouth to mouth based on affection is
an 'GOMU: encouraging being'.
So the main name is not GOMU, but it has the plural form of GOMUS.
이는 고무의 입이 분홍색인 것과 관련있습니다.
모든 고무 캐릭터의 입 색깔은 분홍색으로 같아요.
하트 모양처럼 보이지만 끝이 뾰족하지 않습니다.
이는 단순히 한 명만을 향한 고집적인 사랑이 아니라,
주변의 많은 것들에 대한 부드럽고 말랑말랑한 애정임을 뜻합니다.
즉, 애정을 바탕으로 입에서 입으로 전해지는 모든 것이 '고무적 존재'란 거야!
그래서 메인 이름도 GOMU가 아닌, GOMUS 라는 복수 형태를 띕니다.
And WON hope this RESILIENCE Lv.MAX character, GOMU,
is planted in the minds of as many people around the world as possible.
그리고 전 가능한 많은 사람들의 마음 속에
이 회복 탄력성 Lv.MAX 캐릭터인 GOMU가 심기길 바랍니다.

And since the name of the first start was encouraging 'being', I think this being can be AI.
Starting in 2025, creator WON will step up collaboration with AI to create games,
with the first NFT planning to sell pure digital drawings with no AI work.

그리고 첫 시작의 이름이 고무적 '존재'였기 때문에,
저는 이 존재가 AI가 될 수 있다고 생각합니다.
2025년부터 제작자인 WON은 AI와 협업을 강화하여 게임을 제작해나갈 것이며,
첫 NFT는 AI 작업을 하지 않은 순수 디지털 드로잉을 판매할 계획이예요.
